生平與文學

別號：筆名懶雲、甫三

彰化的執業醫師，被後世尊為「台灣新文學之父」。長期主編《台灣民報》學藝欄，以白話漢文與台灣話文寫作，作品〈一桿「稱仔」〉〈鬥鬧熱〉〈蛇先生〉關懷底層庶民、筆調沉鬱而悲憫，並提攜楊逵、朱點人等後進，是新文學運動的核心人物。
